Freeway Entertainment is delighted to be partnering the UCLA School of Law in hosting its annual Entertainment Symposium (11-12 March) which this year celebrates its 40th anniversary as a flagship event for the entertainment industry.

This year’s UCLA Entertainment Symposium welcomes Ken Ziffren and Anne Sweeney as keynote speakers. Anne is a member of the board of Netflix, a Dean’s Fellow at Harvard University Graduate School of Education. Previously, Anne was Co-Chair, Disney Media Works, and President, Disney/ABC Television Group. Ken Ziffren is a partner with law firm and entertainment and media specialist Ziffren Brittenham LLP and founder of the Ziffren Center for Media, Entertainment, Technology and Sports Law at the ULCA School of Law. The Ziffren Center offers one of the nation’s most comprehensive, advanced and innovative approaches to the study of entertainment and media law, preparing students to practice law in the film, television, music and creative industries.
Over the course of the two day event, leading entertainment industry lawyers, executives, agents, managers and producers meet with UCLA students to discuss key issues at the forefront of the industry. The programme for this year includes sessions looking at Emerging Streaming Services: Reaching Beyond Netflix, Amazon and Hulu; the emergence of Chinawood; Reel Justice: legal Ethics in Courtoom Films or Ethics in a Digital Environment; and Evolving Data, Evolving Business: 40 Years of Radical Change in Media.
