Statutory Accountant Assistant

Freeway Entertainment Group is expanding its Production Accounting Department. We are seeking a Statutory Accountant Assistant to be an integral part of this dynamic team.

The Statutory Accountant Assistant will assist the Senior Production Accountant, Statutory Accountant and in building a team, establishing professional standards, and ensuring the efficient execution of production accounting tasks.
 

Responsibilities

  • Operational:

Assist in various production accounting and statutory accounting tasks for Freeway Production Accounting, including but not limited to:

    • Supporting accounts payable, invoices, and petty cash management.
    • Assisting with bank and credit card reconciliations.
    • Collaborating closely with the Production Accounting Team to maintain financial controls.
    • Providing administrative support for EKHO subcontractors of productions.
    • Participating in Executive Production meetings and sharing relevant financial updates/exposures.
    • Aiding in the review of production budgets and cost report preparation.
    • Coordinating with different production departments to address production-related issues and maintain budget integrity and contract compliance.
    • Assist with tax credit administration and communication, particularly with the Hungarian Film Office.
    • Contribute to the compliance processes.
  • Strategic:
    • Learn and implement professional standards and processes.
    • Prepare to handle operational tasks independently over time.
  • Corporate:
    • Assist in managing the department budget.
    • Maintain accurate records of time spent on each production in the employer's dedicated software tool.
    • Assist in preparing month-end reports for corporate management.
       

Requirements

Especially if you can talk to us about your:

  • At least 1-2 years of experience in the Financial field.
  • Keenness for learning, adeptness in acquiring new systems.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • A basic understanding of television and film production.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in English.
