Freeway Entertainment Group is expanding its Production Accounting department. We are seeking a Junior Accountant to be an integral part of this dynamic team.
The Junior Accountant will handle the Statutory Accounting tasks of the productions handled by the team under supervision of the Head of Statutory Accounting and working closely with the Production Accounting Team ensure the efficient execution of statutory accounting tasks, thereby meeting the needs for the Production Accounting department. This role also involves the preparation of statutory accounts, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, tax return and financial statement preparation, film office submissions and supporting various accounting tasks.
Responsibilities
Completing various production accounting and statutory accounting tasks for Freeway Production Accounting, including but not limited to:
- Recording and maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Checking, managing and processing invoices, validates to the local tax law requirements and the requirements of the Film Office or Film Institute or any other authorities.
- Checking the supporting documents belonging to the invoice (time sheet, delivery certifications and contracts).
- Takes part in preparation of contracts, delivery certification.
- Enter invoice details into the accounting software.
- Preparing bank transfer of invoices and tax liabilities.
- Supporting petty cash management.
- Preparing bank, credit card and cash reconciliations.
- Collaborating closely with the Production Accounting Team to maintain financial controls and ensure consistency of statutory and production accounting records.
- Providing administrative support for subcontractors of productions.
- Supporting month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Preparing and filing tax returns, including VAT, corporate tax, and other local taxes.
- Takes part in preparation of Financial Statements or internal reportings.
- Coordinating with different production departments to address production-related issues and maintain budget integrity and contract compliance.
- Completing tax credit administration and communication, particularly with the Hungarian Film Office.
- Contribute to the compliance processes.
- Learn and implement professional standards and processes.
- Prepare to handle operational tasks independently over time.
Requirements

- Proficiency in Excel.
